Role Overview

EY is hiring a Senior Functional Tester for its Insurance Consulting practice. This role focuses on Guidewire-based insurance platforms (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter) and requires strong functional testing expertise within the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain.

As a Business Tester, you will be responsible for preparing test strategies, executing functional and regression testing, managing defects, and collaborating with stakeholders in Agile environments.

Key Responsibilities

📋 Test Planning & Execution

  • Prepare test strategy, test plans, scenarios, and detailed test cases.

  • Execute functional, regression, sanity, smoke, system, and UAT testing.

  • Validate modules against functional specifications and client style guides.

  • Maintain defect reports and ensure closure via STLC processes.

🛡️ Guidewire & Insurance Domain

  • Perform testing on Guidewire PolicyCenter (Rating), ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, and GW Portal products.

  • Validate insurance workflows across multiple Lines of Business (LOBs).

  • Ensure accurate business rule validation and rating logic verification.

🔄 Agile & Collaboration

  • Participate in sprint ceremonies, review meetings, and walkthrough sessions.

  • Provide regular testing status updates to stakeholders.

  • Perform peer reviews of test cases.

  • Act as an individual contributor and support leadership responsibilities when required.

Mandatory Skills

  • Strong experience in Guidewire (Policy, Claims, Billing Center).

  • Solid knowledge of P&C Insurance domain.

  • Experience in Agile Scrum methodology.

  • Good understanding of SQL basics for data validation.

  • Hands-on experience in UAT and business testing.

  • Strong defect lifecycle management experience.

Qualifications

  • BE / BTech / MCA / M.Sc

  • 6–8 years of relevant experience in Insurance Functional Testing.

Expected Salary

For a Senior Functional Tester with Guidewire expertise in Coimbatore, expected compensation typically ranges between ₹12 LPA – ₹18 LPA, depending on domain depth, Agile exposure, and stakeholder management experience.
