Job Description

Citi is hiring for the role of Quality Assurance Testing Analyst to join its applications development and technology team in Chennai. This is an intermediate-level position designed for professionals who want to contribute to the testing, enhancement, and implementation of new or revised financial applications. As part of Citi’s global technology workforce, you will play a key role in ensuring that applications meet high-quality standards while maintaining security, compliance, and business performance.

This role combines software quality assurance testing with application development exposure, making it ideal for professionals who want to work across testing, debugging, and automation. You will be involved in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), test script design, defect logging, test automation, and performance testing. Beyond testing, you will also collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other technology teams to enhance applications, identify vulnerabilities, and resolve system issues.

The position requires a proactive mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet business deadlines. As part of Citi’s innovation-driven culture, you will also be expected to contribute to continuous improvement by identifying testing gaps, recommending new tools, and coaching junior team members when required.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Participate in the design, implementation, and enhancement of financial applications and systems.

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and product rollout activities in collaboration with project managers and business teams.

• Conduct software quality assurance testing, including regression, integration, and functional testing.

• Develop and execute test scripts based on business and technical requirements.

• Identify, log, and track defects while retesting fixes to ensure complete resolution.

• Analyze applications to detect vulnerabilities and security issues, ensuring compliance with Citi’s risk management policies.

• Act as a mentor or coach to junior analysts and team members when needed.

• Document the evolution of test cases for future replication and process standardization.

• Provide advisory input to stakeholders and participate in defining testing strategies.

• Ensure effective risk management and compliance, safeguarding Citi, its clients, and its reputation.

Requirements & Eligibility

• 2–5 years of experience in quality assurance, testing, or application development within the financial services industry.

• Hands-on experience in UAT, software quality assurance testing, and debugging.

• Knowledge of programming languages and scripting tools for test automation.

• Understanding of applications development life cycle and QA methodologies.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.

• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changes in requirements or timelines.

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to collaborate with diverse teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Expected Salary

A Quality Assurance Testing Analyst in Chennai with 2–5 years of experience can expect a salary in the range of ₹6.5 LPA to ₹11 LPA, depending on skill set, testing expertise, and financial services experience. Analysts with strong automation and UAT knowledge can earn at the higher end of this range.
