Roles & Responsibilities

• Design Test Cases: Analyze functional and non-functional specifications and translate requirements into structured, effective test cases that validate application behavior against expected business outcomes.
• Execute Functional Testing: Perform manual testing across application workflows, verify expected results, identify unexpected behavior, and ensure critical functionality works correctly before release.
• Perform Regression Testing: Re-execute relevant test scenarios after application changes or defect fixes to confirm that new functionality has not introduced problems into existing features.
• Manage Defects: Record defects with clear descriptions, supporting evidence, severity, and reproduction details, then coordinate with development teams and track issues through resolution.
• Verify Bug Fixes: Re-test corrected defects and confirm that fixes successfully address the original issue without creating additional functional or data-related problems.
• Prepare Test Documentation: Create and maintain test plans, test cases, execution reports, test results, and other QA documentation required throughout the software development and release lifecycle.
• Analyze Process & Data Flows: Review existing business and application process flows and data flows to identify testing gaps, potential risks, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improving productivity.
• Support Project Meetings: Participate in project discussions and provide useful input on testing progress, quality risks, issues, dependencies, timelines, and potential improvements to testing strategies.
• Perform SQL Validation: Use basic SQL queries to retrieve and validate application data, perform backend checks, and investigate discrepancies identified during functional testing.
• Work With Business Analysts: Collaborate with Business Analysts and development teams to understand requirements, clarify expected behavior, discuss defects, and ensure adequate test coverage.
• Support Automation: Develop familiarity with automated test execution and contribute to automation activities as testing processes evolve, while continuing to build strong manual testing fundamentals.
• Contribute to Financial Technology Testing: Develop an understanding of middle-office processes, fund accounting, asset valuations, and capital-market workflows to improve the effectiveness of application testing.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Educational Qualification: Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline.
• Software Testing Fundamentals: A solid understanding of the software testing lifecycle, test case design, test execution, defect management, regression testing, and quality assurance processes is expected.
• SQL Knowledge: Candidates should be comfortable writing simple and less complex SQL queries for data validation, backend testing, troubleshooting, and comparing application results with expected data.
