Job Description:
BNP Paribas India Solutions is hiring a Test Engineer for its Banking Services division under Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB 2S). As part of one of the European Union’s leading global banks, this role offers exposure to capital markets operations, particularly in Corporate Action flows within Security Services. The position requires strong financial domain knowledge combined with structured testing expertise in Agile environments.

In this role, you will analyze new functional requirements and enhancements from a testing perspective, identify comprehensive test scenarios, and design detailed test cases. You will prepare test data for integration testing and execute end-to-end integrated system testing through manual validation. The role also includes exposure to automation testing, script execution, and failure investigation. You will work closely with Business Analysts, Development teams, and international stakeholders in a virtual, cross-location environment.

The position demands solid knowledge of capital markets processes, especially Corporate Action lifecycle (dividends, mergers, splits, rights issues, etc.), and a strong understanding of SDLC and testing methodologies. Key Responsibilities:

1. Analyze functional requirements and changes from a QA perspective.

2. Design and document comprehensive Test Plans aligned with BA specifications.

3. Review and refine test plans in collaboration with Business Analysts.

4. Create and manage test data for integration and system testing.

5. Execute manual integrated system testing and update acceptance reports.

6. Log and track defects in defect management systems and coordinate with development teams.

7. Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives.

8. Execute automation scripts and analyze test failures where applicable.

9. Support Corporate Action testing flows in capital market environments.

10. Collaborate across global teams in a multidisciplinary banking environment.

Required Skills & Experience:

1. Bachelor’s Degree (minimum 5 years equivalent education level).

2. Strong knowledge of Capital Markets and Security Services domain.

3. End-to-end understanding of Corporate Action flows.

4. Hands-on experience in manual system and integration testing.

5. Understanding of SDLC and software testing methodologies.

6. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

7. Strong analytical and attention-to-detail capabilities.

8. Exposure to automation testing (added advantage).

9. Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

10. Ability to adapt to global, virtual team environments.

Expected Salary:

For a Test Engineer with capital markets exposure in Chennai, expected salary typically ranges between ₹7 LPA to ₹14 LPA depending on domain expertise, automation exposure, and years of relevant experience in Corporate Action testing. Candidates with strong Security Services background and automation knowledge may command higher compensation within the banking sector.
