Siemens: AI/ML Intern

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is offering a full-time internship opportunity for students passionate about Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML). This role is based in Bengaluru and focuses on transforming manual fabrication review processes into smart, automated workflows using AI/ML techniques and Excel-based automation.

As part of the Wind Power Offshore business unit, you’ll collaborate with experts in Fabrication, FEA, and Design teams to streamline internal processes and contribute to Siemens Gamesa’s mission to lead the global wind energy transition. The internship provides a rich environment to apply academic knowledge in a real-world industrial setting, while being mentored by global field experts.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Automate and optimize the fabrication review process, cutting down review time from days to hours

• Develop and document clear methodologies for efficient review practices

• Collaborate with Fabrication, FEA, and Design teams to understand existing processes and gather insights

• Apply AI and ML techniques to enhance process speed and precision

• Utilize Excel and other tools for process automation

• Analyze tasks using university-licensed student software

• Share clear and transparent progress updates with mentors and team leads

• Demonstrate a proactive attitude in learning, problem-solving, and communication

Requirement & Eligibility

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Integrated Master’s degree (4+2 years of academic curriculum) in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

• Strong interest in AI/ML, process automation, and industrial applications

• Familiarity with Excel-based workflows and ability to learn automation scripts

• Access to student-licensed software and academic guidance from professors

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• High commitment to task execution and clarity in feedback

• Availability to work 5 days a week, 8 hours a day on-site in Bengaluru
