In this entry-level cloud operations role, you will be involved in the day-to-day management, monitoring, and support of clients’ cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Working under the guidance of senior cloud architects and engineers, you will help maintain infrastructure uptime, troubleshoot incidents, and implement basic automation to streamline cloud processes.

As a Cloud Engineer I, you will gain hands-on experience with cloud provisioning, security configurations, and cost‐optimization practices. You’ll participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and knowledge‐sharing sessions, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement. This position is ideal for candidates who have foundational knowledge of cloud technologies and want to build a long‐term career in cloud engineering and DevOps.

🧩 Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Operations & Monitoring:
    • Monitor cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) using tools like CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or Stackdriver.
    • Respond to alerts, troubleshoot system issues, and escalate incidents to senior engineers.

  • Infrastructure Provisioning:
    • Assist in provisioning and configuring virtual machines, storage, and networking resources on cloud platforms.
    • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) basics using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.

  • Security & Compliance:
    • Support the enforcement of security best practices: IAM policies, network security groups, and firewall configurations.
    • Assist with security audits, vulnerability scans, and remediation tasks.

  • Automation & Scripting:
    • Develop and maintain simple automation scripts (Bash, PowerShell, or Python) for routine tasks (e.g., backups, log rotation).
    • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated provisioning and deployment steps.

  • Cost Management & Optimization:
    • Monitor cloud spend and provide recommendations for cost savings (rightsizing instances, identifying unused resources).
    • Generate routine cost reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders.

  • Documentation & Knowledge Transfer:
    • Maintain accurate runbooks, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation.
    • Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and contribute to an internal knowledge base.

  • Collaboration:
    • Work with cross-functional teams (application developers, network engineers, security teams) to ensure seamless delivery of cloud solutions.
    • Participate in on-call rotations and provide 24×7 support as needed.

🎓 Qualifications & Skills

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.

  • Fundamental Cloud Knowledge:
    • Basic understanding of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform services (compute, storage, networking).
    • Familiarity with virtual machines, load balancers, and storage services in one or more cloud providers.

  • Technical Skills:
    • Experience with Linux or Windows server administration (metered tasks like user management, file permissions).
    • Basic scripting proficiency in Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
    • Fundamental networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, subnets, routing).
    • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure ARM templates is a plus.
    • Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps).

  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem‐solving abilities.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow standard operating procedures.
    • Eagerness to learn emerging cloud technologies and adapt to changing business requirements.

  • Preferred (Not Mandatory):
    • Certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer.
    • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
    • Basic understanding of security concepts (IAM, encryption, security groups).

💰 Estimated Salary Range

  • Monthly Salary: ₹45,000 – ₹70,000

  • Annual CTC: ₹5.5 LPA – ₹8.5 LPA

Note: Salary estimates are based on entry-level cloud engineering roles in Bangalore and may vary according to candidate experience and internal pay bands.
