Job Description:

As a Data Engineer II at Zeta, you will be at the heart of our data-driven decision-making ecosystem, building large-scale data systems that empower our global banking and fintech partners. You’ll design and maintain highly scalable data pipelines and warehouses that collect, clean, and transform data from diverse sources, ensuring that every dataset delivers actionable insights for business intelligence, analytics, and product innovation.

In this role, you will also focus on optimizing data architecture and performance, supporting teams across product, engineering, and analytics. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that Zeta’s next-generation banking platform continues to operate with precision, speed, and reliability. Your contributions will directly enhance data accessibility and accuracy, driving smarter financial solutions across millions of users worldwide.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain robust, high-performance data pipelines that process both structured and unstructured data across multiple sources.

• Develop and manage data models and schemas to accurately represent business and operational data for analytics and reporting.

• Build and optimize data warehouses to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning applications.

• Implement and maintain data validation, monitoring, and quality control mechanisms to ensure high data integrity.

• Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to optimize database performance and enhance query efficiency.

• Develop automated workflows using Python, Java, or Scala to streamline ingestion, transformation, and analysis processes.

• Leverage big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka for scalable data processing and real-time analytics.

• Deploy and manage cloud-native data infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure, incorporating tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

• Enforce data governance and security standards, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.

• Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for data systems and conduct root cause analysis for performance bottlenecks.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields with 3–5 years of relevant experience.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python or Java, with hands-on experience in data engineering or BI development.

• Deep understanding of data modeling, database design, and ETL processes.

• Experience with Apache Spark, Airflow, Flink, DBT, Athena/Presto, or similar frameworks.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure and related cloud data services.

• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration for scalable data deployments.

• Practical experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills with a passion for data accuracy and system optimization.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional and agile environments.
