Texas Instruments (TI) is hiring an experienced Test Engineer to join its Product Development team in Bengaluru. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on highly integrated multi-rail power management devices and motor controller/driver products designed for high-growth markets such as automotive, industrial, and embedded systems. As a Test Engineer at TI, you will be deeply involved in probe and final test development for complex mixed-signal integrated circuits. The position demands strong expertise in Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), silicon characterization, and production test program development to ensure robust and high-quality semiconductor products move seamlessly from design to volume manufacturing.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with design teams to understand specifications and translate them into comprehensive test strategies. Responsibilities include generating detailed test plans, developing characterization and production test programs, and designing ATE hardware interface boards. You will debug and characterize silicon on ATE platforms such as J750, UFlex, ETS800, Teradyne Eagle, V93K, or similar analog testers. Correlating ATE results with bench data, analyzing yield fallout, optimizing test time, and supporting failure analysis activities will be central to your work. This position requires strong technical expertise in digital and flash testing techniques, mixed-signal validation, and statistical data analysis using tools like Spotfire or DataPower.
Beyond core testing responsibilities, the Test Engineer role at TI emphasizes innovation, cost-effective solutions, and product quality accountability. You will contribute to silicon qualification, device debugging, and test strategy implementation for new product introductions. Roles & Responsibilities:

Collaborate with design teams to interpret design specifications and develop comprehensive test strategies for mixed-signal power management and motor controller devices.

Generate detailed test plans, create characterization and production test programs, and design ATE hardware interface boards.

Perform silicon debugging and characterization on ATE platforms, correlating test data with bench measurements for accurate validation.

Analyze silicon results and support failure analysis activities to identify root causes of defects and performance issues.

Conduct statistical analysis of yield fallout, identify yield-limiting factors, and implement corrective measures to improve manufacturing efficiency.

Optimize test time and test coverage to achieve cost-effective production while maintaining high product quality standards.

Support silicon qualification processes, including qualification hardware development and comprehensive device validation.

Work with production engineering teams to release products into volume manufacturing with stable and reliable test solutions.

Develop and implement digital and flash testing techniques aligned with TI’s roadmap testers and evolving technology standards.

Collaborate across functions including design, product engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure on-time product delivery.
Requirements & Eligibility:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with strong academic knowledge in analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.

5–10 years of relevant experience in ATE test development, silicon characterization, and production test engineering within the semiconductor industry.

Hands-on experience with ATE platforms such as J750, UFlex, ETS800, Teradyne Eagle (preferred), V93K, iFlex, or equivalent analog test systems.

Strong expertise in characterization test program and hardware development, including probe and final test solutions.

Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Spotfire, DataPower, or equivalent STDF-based analysis platforms.

Practical experience with laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, source meters, power supplies, electronic loads, and other validation tools.

Strong understanding of IC product development processes from concept to volume production, including yield improvement strategies.

Programming or scripting proficiency in C++, Python, C#, or IG-XL VB to support automation and test program customization.

Familiarity with revision control tools such as Git or Subversion for managing test program versions and collaboration.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
Expected Salary:
For a Test Engineer with 5–10 years of semiconductor ATE experience in Bengaluru, the expected salary typically ranges between ₹18 LPA to ₹35 LPA, depending on expertise in mixed-signal testing, yield optimization, and ATE platform proficiency. Compensation may vary based on prior semiconductor product development exposure and depth of silicon characterization experience.
