Job Description
Standard Chartered is hiring a Manager – Performance Testing in Bangalore to strengthen its Quality Engineering and Risk & Control ecosystem within the ESG One and CCIB technology landscape. This role is critical in ensuring application reliability, scalability, and regulatory compliance by designing and executing robust performance testing strategies. You will work closely with developers, product owners, risk teams, and business stakeholders to validate system performance, mitigate operational risks, and enhance overall software quality in alignment with the bank’s governance standards.
In this role, you will lead performance testing initiatives, develop automation frameworks, and integrate CI/CD-driven quality practices across the release lifecycle. You will design detailed Performance Test Plans, execute load and stress tests using tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, and NeoLoad, and analyze key performance metrics including response time, throughput, and infrastructure utilization. The position requires strong expertise in Selenium WebDriver, Java-based automation frameworks, API validation, and database testing. Beyond execution, you will mentor teams, review test artifacts, drive automation adoption, and ensure alignment with regulatory, operational risk, and governance frameworks within a banking environment.
Roles & Responsibilities

Design and execute comprehensive performance testing strategies, including load, stress, endurance, and volume testing for banking applications.

Develop and maintain CI/CD-integrated automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, Java/.NET, Cucumber, and TestNG.

Prepare detailed Performance Test Plans outlining scope, objectives, tools, environments, and risk mitigation strategies.

Analyze application performance metrics such as response time, throughput, CPU utilization, and memory consumption to identify bottlenecks.

Implement parameterization and correlation techniques to handle dynamic server responses during load testing.

Perform API validation, database verification, and end-to-end (E2E) integration testing across multiple system layers.

Review test artifacts including feature files (Gherkin), traceability matrices, automation scripts, and coverage reports.

Collaborate with Product Owners, Integration Teams, and Compliance stakeholders to align testing deliverables with regulatory expectations.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives, risk mitigation strategies, and automation adoption across ESG One projects.

Mentor team members, identify skill gaps, and enhance productivity through best practices in test planning and execution.
Requirements & Eligibility

Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Computer Science, or related discipline; experience in banking domain is highly preferred.

Strong expertise in Selenium WebDriver with advanced knowledge of dynamic XPath strategies and automation framework design.

Hands-on experience with load testing tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, and NeoLoad, including performance engineering techniques.

Proficiency in Java or .NET for developing automation suites and test harness solutions.

Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and version control systems like Git.

Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman and database validation using SQL queries.

Familiarity with test automation design patterns such as Page Object Model (POM) and data-driven frameworks.

Experience in Agile/Scrum environments with exposure to governance, operational risk, and compliance frameworks.

Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex performance issues and propose scalable technical solutions.

Excellent communication skills to interact with global stakeholders, auditors, risk committees, and regulatory bodies.

The average salary for a Manager – Performance Testing in Bangalore within the banking and financial services sector typically ranges between ₹20 LPA to ₹35 LPA, depending on domain expertise, automation framework experience, and leadership responsibilities.
