Schneider Electric is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Test Automation Engineer to join its Building Management System (BMS) R&D team. You will create automated testing frameworks from scratch, integrate them with continuous integration pipelines, and collaborate with architects and product teams to ensure seamless functionality across the platform. As a Test Automation Engineer, you will play a vital role in identifying issues early, implementing QA best practices, and advocating for test-driven development across teams. Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute automated tests including integration, acceptance, smoke, functional, and performance tests for the BMS platform.

• Build and maintain automation frameworks that support continuous integration and deployment across multiple environments.

• Collaborate with software architects, developers, and product owners to gather requirements, clarify use cases, and design effective test coverage.

• Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with development teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.

• Continuously evolve and enhance the automated testing infrastructure to improve reliability and execution speed.

• Support team members in understanding and adopting automation best practices and encourage a test-first mindset.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies like sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure quality goals align with delivery timelines.

• Document test plans, automation scripts, and execution results for better traceability and compliance with QA standards.

• Collaborate with global teams to share knowledge, solve technical challenges, and align on quality standards across regions.

• Provide technical mentorship to junior QA engineers and guide them in using automation tools effectively.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; Master’s preferred.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development or 8+ years in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on automation.

• Proven expertise in designing and implementing automated testing solutions in a continuous integration (CI/CD) environment.

• Hands-on experience with test scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Shell scripting.

• Familiarity with QA methodologies within Agile/SAFe frameworks and experience in test-driven development (TDD) or behavior-driven development (BDD).

• Good knowledge of SQL databases, Linux environment, and tools like Jenkins or MS Visual Studio.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues quickly and effectively.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across cross-functional teams globally.

• Exposure to open-source automation tools and frameworks will be an added advantage.

Expected Salary:

The expected salary for a Test Automation Engineer at Schneider Electric in Bangalore typically ranges from ₹10 LPA to ₹18 LPA, depending on experience, technical expertise, and certifications. Senior professionals with strong CI/CD and automation experience may command salaries on the higher end of this range.
