Job Description

As a Data Analytics Analyst at PayPal, you will play a critical role in transforming large volumes of business data into meaningful insights that guide strategic decisions across global teams. Roles & Responsibilities

1. Conduct exploratory and advanced data analysis to uncover business trends, evaluate performance, and support strategic decisions.

2. Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports that present insights clearly and effectively to business stakeholders.

3. Translate complex business requirements into scalable analytical solutions through structured queries, data models, and reporting logic.

4. Apply statistical and analytical techniques to identify risks, opportunities, and performance gaps across various business functions.

5. Partner with cross-functional teams—including product, engineering, operations, and analytics—to drive data-driven improvements.

6. Define and implement meaningful KPIs aligned to business goals, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and relevance across reporting layers.

7. Architect data models and design optimized data flows that support efficient analysis and timely decision-making.

8. Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure accurate, stable, and reliable data delivery from upstream systems.

9. Monitor key operational processes, proactively identifying anomalies or disruptions that may impact reporting continuity.

10. Investigate data issues, coordinate with development teams, and drive resolutions to maintain data quality and system reliability.

11. Prepare and communicate analytical findings, insight summaries, and actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders.

12. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting new methodologies, data structures, or tools that enhance analytical capability.

Requirements & Eligibility

1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience, along with 1+ years of hands-on analytics exposure.

2. Strong command of SQL with the ability to manipulate, join, and analyze complex datasets efficiently.

3. Expertise in at least one BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau for designing dashboards and visual reports.

4. Experience translating business problems into analytical requirements and building scalable reporting solutions.

5. Understanding of data modeling techniques, dataset architecture, and efficient data-flow design.

6. Solid problem-solving skills, with the ability to detect data quality issues, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions.

7. Effective communication skills to coordinate with stakeholders, present insights, and influence decisions across functional teams.

8. Familiarity with statistical concepts, analytical methods, and data-driven decision-making frameworks.

9. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.

10. Strong ownership mindset with a commitment to accuracy, reliability, and high-quality analytical delivery.
