Job Description

OneTrust is hiring a Quality Engineer – SDET in Bangalore to strengthen its AI-Ready Governance Platform and accelerate responsible innovation in data and AI. As a leader in governance, risk, and compliance technology, OneTrust empowers organizations to use data responsibly while maintaining regulatory compliance and operational agility. This role is ideal for experienced automation engineers who thrive in DevOps-driven, continuously deployed environments. You will build scalable automation frameworks, performance scripts, and intelligent test strategies that ensure product stability, scalability, and reliability. By embedding quality at every stage of development, you will directly support the mission of delivering trusted data solutions at the speed of AI.

As a hands-on SDET, you will collaborate closely with product, development, and operations teams to design robust automated test suites across functional and non-functional requirements. You will translate manual test cases into automated scripts, integrate them into CI/CD pipelines, and continuously refine the automation footprint to reduce escaped defects. With a strong focus on shift-left testing and DevOps principles, you will troubleshoot performance issues, monitor logs, analyze memory and resource utilization, and optimize test execution under load. This role demands critical thinking, proactive defect identification, and continuous improvement to maintain clean, reliable, and scalable automated testing ecosystems.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for functional, regression, API, and performance testing within continuously deployed environments.

  2. Convert manual test cases into scalable automated scripts using Java-based frameworks and industry-standard testing tools.

  3. Execute automated test suites across multiple checkpoints in the release pipeline and analyze build acceptance results.

  4. Develop and maintain performance scripts using JMeter or equivalent tools to evaluate system scalability and reliability under load.

  5. Collaborate with product and development teams to identify gaps, raise defects, and ensure timely resolution of quality issues.

  6. Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines, aligning with Agile and DevOps methodologies for faster feedback cycles.

  7. Troubleshoot issues related to scripts, application logs, environment sizing, and infrastructure performance using monitoring tools.

  8. Perform database validation for SQL and NoSQL systems to ensure data accuracy and consistency across environments.

  9. Participate in production deployments, analyze logs, and provide insights to improve product performance and reliability.

  10. Mentor junior team members, promote best practices, and continuously enhance the automation footprint across the product ecosystem.

Requirements & Eligibility

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field with a strong foundation in software development principles.

  2. 4+ years of experience as a Developer, Automation Engineer, SDET, or Performance Engineer in enterprise software environments.

  3. 2+ years of hands-on coding experience in Java with strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Core Java concepts.

  4. Proven experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, Podam, or TestNG.

  5. Experience automating APIs using tools such as Postman, SOAP, or REST Assured, with strong understanding of RESTful services.

  6. Hands-on experience with Selenium for UI automation or JMeter for performance testing in high-scale applications.

  7. Proficiency in working with defect tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, QTest, ALM, or Qmetry.

  8. Experience troubleshooting logs and monitoring systems using tools like Kibana, with the ability to detect memory leaks and throttling issues.

  9. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, along with CI/CD and DevOps practices.

  10. Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with a proactive, self-driven approach to continuous improvement.

Expected Salary

The average salary for a Quality Engineer – SDET in Bangalore with 4+ years of experience typically ranges between ₹12 LPA to ₹22 LPA, depending on expertise in Java automation, performance testing, and cloud environments. Professionals with strong DevOps and CI/CD integration skills may command higher compensation packages in product-based companies.
