Job Description

Merkle, a leading global data-driven performance marketing and technology company under the Dentsu network, is seeking a highly skilled QA Manager to lead its quality assurance initiatives for data-driven solutions. This role demands strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and the ability to manage and scale QA processes across complex Azure-based data ecosystems. As part of the Dentsu Global Services (DGS) India team, you will be responsible for ensuring that software deliverables meet the organization’s high-quality standards while aligning with client expectations and industry best practices.

As a QA Manager, you will play a critical role in defining and implementing QA strategies for ADF-based data pipelines, Azure cloud workflows, and data validation frameworks. The position requires proficiency in ETL testing, data integrity verification, and automation for cloud data solutions. You will also lead cross-functional collaborations with data engineers, architects, and analysts to establish efficient test coverage and governance frameworks, ensuring reliable and accurate data delivery across multiple environments.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead the overall QA strategy, planning, and execution for Azure Data Factory-based pipelines and workflows.

• Design and implement comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automation suites for data ingestion, transformation, and validation processes.

• Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across various systems, including Azure SQL, Synapse, and Data Lake.

• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and business analysts to ensure thorough understanding of data flows and system requirements.

• Develop and maintain automated data validation scripts using tools such as PySpark, SQL, PowerShell, or ADF Data Flows.

• Monitor data quality metrics, manage test coverage, and track defect trends to ensure continuous improvement.

• Enforce compliance with data governance, privacy, and security standards across QA processes.

• Drive DevOps and CI/CD integration for QA automation pipelines.

• Mentor and coach junior QA engineers, fostering technical excellence and collaborative teamwork.

• Lead stakeholder communication and ensure QA deliverables align with project timelines and business objectives.

Requirements & Eligibility

• 8–12 years of experience in software testing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial QA role.

• Proven experience in Azure cloud-based testing and data pipeline validation.

• Strong hands-on knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Data Lake (ADLS Gen2), Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, Logic Apps, and Key Vault.

• Expertise in ETL/data pipeline testing, preferably using Azure Data Factory.

• Strong command of SQL, stored procedures, and database validation techniques.

• Familiarity with Python, PySpark, or Shell scripting for automation of data testing workflows.

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control, and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail).

• Experience with data quality frameworks such as Great Expectations or Deequ.

• Exposure to Spark architecture, Power BI, or other BI platforms for result visualization.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Certifications such as ISTQB, Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), or Snowflake Core are preferred.

Expected Salary

For the role of QA Manager at Merkle (Dentsu Global Services) in Bengaluru or Pune, professionals with 8–12 years of experience can expect a salary range between ₹18 LPA and ₹28 LPA, depending on experience, technical expertise, and managerial capabilities.
