Job Description:
GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group company and a global leader in digital engineering services, is hiring a QA Test Engineer with Automation expertise to join its Digital Systems & Services team in Bangalore. In this role, you will contribute to building reliable and high-quality software solutions for one of the worldβs largest retail pharmacy and healthcare organizations. The client operates across multiple countries with thousands of stores and a large pharmaceutical distribution network, making quality assurance a critical component of its digital ecosystem.
As a QA Automation Engineer, you will participate in requirement discussions, backlog planning, and sprint estimations while collaborating closely with product owners, business teams, and developers. Your responsibilities will include designing test strategies, creating detailed test plans, and developing automated test scripts to ensure application reliability and performance. Working with modern web technologies and cloud-based architectures, you will validate complex applications built using AngularJS, NodeJS, ReactJS, and Microsoft Azure microservices.
This role also involves end-to-end integration testing, API validation, and defect management throughout the development lifecycle. Using automation tools such as Selenium and Cucumber along with service testing tools like Postman and SOAPUI, you will ensure early detection of issues and maintain consistent software quality. By participating in Agile development cycles and collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will help deliver scalable and secure digital solutions that support global healthcare operations.
Roles & Responsibilities:

Participate in business requirement and backlog refinement meetings to define acceptance criteria for epics, user stories, and capabilities.

Estimate testing scope and effort for each user story and contribute to sprint planning and release planning activities.

Design and implement comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and automation scripts using tools such as Selenium and Cucumber.

Perform functional automation testing and integration testing across applications built with AngularJS, NodeJS, ReactJS, and Azure microservices.

Conduct service-oriented architecture testing using API testing tools such as Postman and SOAPUI.

Execute automated and manual test cycles based on environment availability and project timelines.

Manage and track defects using Agile tools like JIRA, ensuring timely resolution in coordination with development teams.

Review and validate test results, ensuring adherence to defined defect service-level agreements.

Collaborate with product owners, business teams, and developers to improve testing processes and product quality.

Maintain detailed testing documentation and continuously enhance automation frameworks to improve testing efficiency.
Requirements & Eligibility:

Strong experience in functional testing and automation testing methodologies within Agile development environments.

Hands-on experience with Selenium and Cucumber for developing and executing automated test scripts.

Knowledge of modern web technologies such as AngularJS, ReactJS, and NodeJS for validating frontend and backend functionality.

Experience testing applications deployed on Microsoft Azure microservices architecture.

Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman and SOAPUI for service-level validation.

Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases such as MS SQL Server and Cosmos DB.

Strong knowledge of Agile tools such as JIRA for backlog management, test planning, and defect tracking.

Ability to estimate testing scope, plan sprint activities, and contribute to Agile testing strategies.

Excellent analytical and debugging skills for identifying root causes of defects.

Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams in distributed environments.
Expected Salary:
For a QA Automation Engineer with relevant experience in Bangalore, the typical salary range generally falls between βΉ9 LPA to βΉ18 LPA depending on expertise in automation frameworks, API testing, and cloud-based applications. Professionals with strong experience in Selenium automation, Agile testing practices, and microservices architecture may receive higher compensation aligned with industry standards in digital engineering services.
