Job Description:

Cisco is offering an exciting opportunity for fresh graduates to join its Catalyst SD-WAN team as a Software Engineer (Junior Test Engineer) in Bangalore. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about networking technologies and software quality assurance. In this role, you will work on developing and executing test cases to validate networking features, ensuring reliability and performance of SD-WAN solutions. The position requires a foundational understanding of networking concepts such as routing, forwarding, and security, allowing you to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and executing test cases to validate SD-WAN features and ensure product quality.
• Support the creation and maintenance of automation scripts using Python to improve testing efficiency.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and testing needs.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues identified during testing, ensuring timely resolution.
• Apply networking concepts such as routing, forwarding, and security in testing scenarios.
• Contribute to the improvement of test processes and automation frameworks.
• Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, execution results, and identified defects.
• Participate in training programs to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
• Work in Agile environments to support continuous integration and delivery processes.
• Stay updated with the latest networking technologies and testing methodologies.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, including routing, switching, and forwarding mechanisms.
• Fundamental knowledge of network security principles and protocols.
• Working knowledge of Python programming for scripting and automation tasks.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Internship or academic project experience in networking or software testing is a plus.
• Exposure to automation tools or frameworks is an added advantage.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
