CGI: Associate Software Engineer – Cyber Security

CGI, a global IT and business consulting services firm, is seeking fresh Bachelor of Engineering (BE) graduates with a specialization in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or related fields to join their team in Bengaluru. As an Associate Software Engineer – Cyber Security, you will embark on a career path focused on safeguarding applications and systems from cyber threats.

In this role, you will receive hands-on training and mentorship while working on real-world projects involving vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis. You will collaborate with development and operations teams to identify and mitigate security risks, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of CGI's systems and applications.

🧩 Key Responsibilities

• Vulnerability Assessments & Penetration Testing: Assist in performing assessments and testing of web and mobile applications to identify security weaknesses.

• Security Monitoring & Incident Handling: Support in monitoring security events, analyzing logs, and responding to incidents promptly.

• Policy & Documentation Development: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and documentation.

• Collaboration: Work closely with development and operations teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle.

• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices in cybersecurity.

🎓 Qualifications & Skills

Educational Requirements:

• Degree: Bachelor of Engineering (BE) – 2024/2025 pass-outs (or most recent batch).

• Specialization: Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field.

• Academic Criteria: Minimum of 60% throughout academics.

Technical Skills:

• Networking & Security Fundamentals: Understanding of networking concepts, firewalls, encryption, and authentication mechanisms.

• Security Tools: Familiarity with tools like Burp Suite, Nmap, and knowledge of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.

• Scripting: Basic knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell is advantageous.

• Operating Systems: Proficiency in Linux commands and environments.

Soft Skills:

• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective documentation and collaboration.

• Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex problems and devise effective solutions.

• Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities.

Preferred Certifications (Optional but Advantageous):

• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

• CompTIA Security+

• Any recognized security certification/course
