Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Build, validate, and deploy predictive models that strengthen decision-making across credit, fraud, and marketing domains.

  • Analyze large and complex datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and insights that drive business growth and minimize risk.

  • Leverage Amex’s closed-loop network data to make customer interactions smarter, more relevant, and more personalized.

  • Innovate and experiment with new modeling methods, machine learning algorithms, and big data approaches to improve analytical outcomes.

  • Translate analytical findings into structured business insights for senior leadership and key stakeholders across global markets.

  • Maintain awareness of industry developments in machine learning, finance, analytics, and payments to enhance solution quality.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand business challenges and develop end-to-end analytical solutions.

  • Document methodologies, ensure model governance, and support integration of models into production environments.

  • Independently manage tasks across unstructured problem areas and deliver high-quality analytical outputs.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by exploring new tools, technologies, and advanced statistical techniques.


Requirements & Eligibility

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related analytical discipline.

  • 0–30 months of experience in analytics, data science, big data engineering, or similar roles.

  • Strong skills in Python, R, SAS, SQL, Hive, Spark, and experience working with large datasets.

  • Familiarity with supervised and unsupervised ML techniques including neural networks, Bayesian models, decision trees, reinforcement learning, and attribute engineering.

  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently on complex and ambiguous challenges.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to articulate analytical insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional global teams and contribute to multi-stakeholder initiatives.

  • Experience in developing algorithms, high-performance computing, and scalable analytical systems is an advantage.

  • Strong analytical thinking with a curiosity-driven approach to learning and experimentation.

  • Ability to manage deliverables in fast-paced, results-oriented environments.
