Job Description:
Merkle is hiring a QA Manager to lead and transform its quality engineering function across projects in Bengaluru and Pune. This role is designed for experienced professionals who can define and execute a comprehensive quality strategy aligned with business goals and client expectations. As part of a globally recognized digital transformation company, you will oversee end-to-end quality processes, ensuring that software products meet high standards of performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
In this role, you will take ownership of QA strategy, processes, and metrics, driving continuous improvement in testing methodologies and automation practices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, and development leads, to ensure that quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle. The position also involves stakeholder engagement, risk management, and contributing to pre-sales activities by showcasing QA capabilities and strategies.
Additionally, this leadership role emphasizes people management, innovation, and operational excellence. You will mentor and manage QA teams, build talent pipelines, and foster a high-performance culture. By leveraging modern tools, automation frameworks, and DevOps practices, you will enhance testing efficiency and ensure faster, more reliable software delivery, making this role critical to the organization’s success.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive QA strategy aligned with organizational goals and client expectations.
- Define and implement QA processes, standards, and best practices across multiple projects.
- Establish and monitor key quality metrics such as defect density, test coverage, and automation coverage.
- Lead, mentor, and manage QA teams, ensuring skill development and high performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including product managers and developers, to align on requirements and quality expectations.
- Support pre-sales activities by presenting QA strategies and addressing client queries.
- Identify software quality risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Oversee defect management processes and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through automation, process optimization, and tool adoption.
- Stay updated with industry trends and integrate innovative QA practices into the organization.
Requirements & Eligibility:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, including manual and automation testing practices.
- Experience with test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, or ALM.
- Proven ability to manage and scale QA teams while driving process excellence.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or TestNG is preferred.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps integration for continuous testing.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and Agile methodologies like Scrum or SAFe.
Expected Salary:
The expected salary for a QA Manager at Merkle in India typically ranges between ₹28 LPA to ₹55 LPA, depending on leadership experience, technical expertise, and team management capabilities.
