Job Description

GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group Company, is hiring a Senior QA Engineer with strong expertise in ETL testing, SQL, and Data Warehousing to join its Digital Systems & Services division. This full-time remote role based in Chennai focuses on validating complex data pipelines, ensuring data accuracy, and maintaining integrity across enterprise-scale warehouse systems. As a senior member of the QA function, you will design and execute comprehensive testing strategies that support robust, scalable, and high-performance data architectures for global clients.

At GlobalLogic, quality engineering plays a crucial role in delivering intelligent digital solutions. You will perform in-depth source-to-target data validation using complex SQL queries and verify transformations across staging and target layers. The role demands hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or DataStage, along with strong understanding of star and snowflake schemas, fact and dimension tables, and SCD types. Automation expertise using Python, PyTest, or Selenium will help streamline regression and integration testing efforts.

This position also involves working with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, or BigQuery, and may include exposure to Big Data technologies like Hive and Spark. You will collaborate with data engineers, developers, and business analysts within Agile frameworks to ensure data quality and continuous improvement of QA processes. Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute end-to-end test strategies for ETL and Data Warehouse implementations.

• Build and maintain automation frameworks for validating large-scale data transformations and pipelines.

• Write complex SQL queries to validate source-to-target mappings, aggregations, and transformation logic.

• Validate data accuracy, completeness, and integrity across source, staging, and target layers.

• Test business rules, SCD implementations, and data quality checks within warehouse systems.

• Develop detailed test cases, scripts, and datasets for batch and real-time ETL workflows.

• Perform regression, integration, and performance testing on large datasets to ensure system stability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and verify data logic alignment.

• Conduct root cause analysis for defects and track issues through resolution within Agile sprints.

• Integrate automation tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or Azure DevOps.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in ETL/Data Testing and Quality Assurance roles.

• Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex joins, aggregations, subqueries, and stored procedures.

• Solid understanding of Data Warehousing concepts such as Star/Snowflake schema and SCD types.

• Hands-on experience with ETL tools including Informatica, Talend, SSIS, DataStage, or similar platforms.

• Experience building automation solutions using Python, PyTest, Selenium, or comparable frameworks.

• Knowledge of data validation techniques, reconciliation processes, and data profiling practices.

• Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, or BigQuery is preferred.

• Familiarity with Big Data technologies like Hive, Hadoop, or Spark is advantageous.

• Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.

• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.

Expected Salary
