The role demands strong technical judgment, independence, and the ability to work under minimal supervision while still thriving in a highly collaborative, fast-paced setup. Your automation expertise will help identify risks early and enable consistent, high-quality releases.

Johnson Controls values innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. As a Senior QA Engineer, you will mentor junior team members, drive enhancements to automation processes, and proactively recommend improvements to tools and methodologies. You will stay aligned with emerging technologies and CI/CD practices, ensuring the QA function evolves alongside the product. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on globally deployed security solutions while advancing your career within a trusted, innovation-driven organization.

  • Maintain and enhance existing automation modules while developing new ones for upcoming product releases.

  • Collaborate with Scrum teams, developers, and architects to understand requirements and ensure test strategies align with system design.

  • Contribute across all phases of the SDLC, including planning, development, testing, and release activities.

  • Automate existing test plans and design automation strategies for complex systems and workflows.

  • Support continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines by integrating automated tests effectively.

  • Execute manual test cases when required and ensure defects are logged, reviewed, and tracked within defined timelines.

  • Analyze test results, identify risks, and provide actionable recommendations to improve product quality.

  • Mentor junior QA engineers, promoting best practices in automation, testing methodologies, and quality ownership.

  • Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements & Eligibility

  • BE, BTech, MTech, or MCA qualification with a strong foundation in software engineering principles.

  • 5–8 years of experience in QA automation engineering, including at least 2+ years of hands-on Selenium development using Java or Python.

  • Strong experience with GUI-based automation, data-driven testing, and object-oriented testing methodologies.

  • Solid understanding of HTML and JavaScript to support web-based automation efforts.

  • Knowledge of unit testing, integration testing, and non-functional testing approaches.

  • Hands-on experience with version control systems such as Git and familiarity with automated deployment processes.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex systems and dependencies across hardware and software.

  • Experience working in agile development environments such as Agile, incremental, or spiral models.

  • Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in global, cross-functional teams.

  • Preferred exposure to IoT, physical security access control domains, scripting languages, automation frameworks, or hardware testing.
