Job Description
As a Data & Analytics Analyst at Barclays in Pune, you will sit at the heart of data-driven decision making within the Wholesale Onboarding and Group FCO space. Your primary responsibility will be to design, build, and maintain reports and dashboards that translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders. You will work closely with business, risk, and operations teams to understand their requirements, define key performance indicators (KPIs), and build visualizations that highlight trends, risks, and opportunities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical skills with strong business acumen to influence strategic decisions.
In this position, you will also play a critical part in strengthening Barclaysโ risk and controls environment by ensuring that data used for reporting is accurate, timely, and well-governed. You will engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, validate data sources, and ensure that reporting solutions remain aligned with evolving regulatory, operational, and strategic priorities. Using tools such as SQL, Tableau (or similar BI tools), and Python, you will automate data pipelines, improve reporting efficiency, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Your work will help safeguard clients and the organisation by bringing transparency, insight, and control to financial transactions and related processes.
Roles & Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and management reports that clearly communicate KPIs, trends, and performance insights across multiple business units.

Work closely with stakeholders to gather, refine, and translate business requirements into structured reporting specifications and meaningful data visualizations.

Build automated report generation processes, using SQL and BI tools to reduce manual effort, improve timeliness, and enhance reporting accuracy.

Continuously monitor and update existing reports and templates to reflect changing business needs, process changes, and regulatory expectations.

Develop and maintain robust processes and controls for data collection, validation, and sign-off to ensure the integrity and reliability of published information.

Engage with business, risk, and technology partners to ensure that the latest and most relevant data sources are integrated into reporting solutions.

Support analytical investigations into financial transactions, customer behaviour, and operational performance to identify potential risks or anomalies.

Collaborate with related teams and functions to ensure alignment on metrics, definitions, and methodology across the wider analytics landscape.

Take ownership of reporting deliverables, ensuring high-quality outputs, timely delivery, and adherence to internal policies, procedures, and control frameworks.

Escalate issues, policy breaches, or data quality concerns appropriately and contribute to remediation plans and process enhancements.

Act as a key contact for stakeholders outside the immediate team, presenting analysis, explaining methodologies, and influencing decisions using data-driven insight.

Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by suggesting new tools, techniques, or approaches to enhance data analytics capabilities and reporting excellence.
Requirements & Eligibility

Bachelorโs degree (or higher) in a quantitative, technology, or business-related discipline, with a strong foundation in data analysis and reporting concepts.

Proven experience in designing and developing reports and dashboards using data visualization tools such as Tableau or similar BI platforms, with a keen eye for usability and storytelling.

Strong SQL skills, including the ability to query, join, filter, and aggregate large datasets from multiple sources while maintaining performance and accuracy.

Exposure to Python or similar scripting languages for data manipulation, automation, and advanced analytics, or a willingness to deepen expertise in this area.

Solid understanding of SDLC and reporting lifecycle processes, from requirements analysis and design through execution, documentation, and phase closure.

Experience engaging with stakeholders at different levels, gathering requirements, clarifying expectations, and ensuring that reports meet business and regulatory needs.

Demonstrated ability to make evaluative judgements based on factual analysis, with strong attention to detail and a structured approach to problem solving.

Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex data insights in a simple, business-friendly manner to non-technical audiences.

A proactive mindset, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and consistently drive continuous improvement in processes and outputs.

Familiarity with risk and control concepts, and an understanding of how analytics, reporting, and governance contribute to a strong control environment in financial services.
