Job Description

The QA Automation Engineer role at Sage is a critical position within the Product Delivery team, focusing on ensuring world-class software quality through advanced automation frameworks. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining test automation systems using Cypress with JavaScript/TypeScript to validate software functionality, performance, and scalability. As a QA Automation Engineer, you will collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and agile teams to create robust testing strategies that drive continuous delivery and innovation. You’ll be responsible for developing automated test scripts, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring every release meets the highest standards of performance and reliability. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks using Cypress, ensuring stability, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.

  • Design, execute, and optimize test cases covering functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers to define and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

  • Manage defect reporting and resolution, ensuring that all identified issues are tracked, analyzed, and closed in coordination with development teams.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to align testing efforts with project goals.

  • Create detailed test documentation, including test plans, strategies, and execution reports, providing transparent insights into product quality.

  • Perform code reviews for test scripts to ensure high-quality, reusable, and maintainable code adhering to QA best practices.

  • Contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, enhancing automation across environments.

  • Stay up to date with the latest QA trends, automation tools, and testing methodologies to continuously improve processes.

  • Champion quality culture across teams, promoting automation-first approaches and proactive quality assurance.


Requirements & Eligibility

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in QA automation and software testing.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in Cypress, JavaScript, or TypeScript for automation scripting.

    • Experience with test management tools, version control (Git), and CI/CD systems (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).

    • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and performance testing.

    • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices and continuous testing principles.

    • Experience integrating automation frameworks with cloud-based test environments.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent analytical thinking and attention to detail.

    • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working in diverse teams.

    • Ability to handle multiple priorities in fast-paced, agile environments.

    • Passion for continuous learning, innovation, and driving testing excellence.
