Roles & Responsibilities:

Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining data ingestion pipelines into Splunk Cloud from diverse infrastructure and application sources.

Support the configuration and deployment of Splunk ITSI components, including KPI setup, service tree mapping, and dashboard creation.

Integrate and manage OpenTelemetry collectors to capture traces, logs, and metrics for distributed systems.

Monitor data quality across observability pipelines and ensure ingestion consistency and integrity.

Help troubleshoot issues within the observability stack, such as data discrepancies, missing logs, or visualization errors.

Document configurations, workflows, and best practices to ensure repeatable and scalable observability operations.

Collaborate with developers, SREs, and operations teams to translate monitoring requirements into effective observability solutions.

Contribute to automation initiatives for alerting, anomaly detection, and health checks.

Participate in internal learning and improvement initiatives to enhance the organization’s observability maturity.

Promote the use of observability best practices, fostering a data-driven engineering culture within the IT department.
Requirements & Eligibility:

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent hands-on experience).

Experience Level: 1–3 years of experience in an operational or support role involving Splunk Enterprise or Splunk Cloud.

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Splunk SPL (Search Processing Language) for creating basic dashboards, alerts, and reports.

Observability Expertise: Exposure to OpenTelemetry, monitoring principles, and the concept of Logs as Code (LaaC).

Version Control: Understanding of configuration management and version-controlled monitoring workflows using tools like Git.

Analytical Skills: Ability to identify, analyze, and troubleshoot system performance issues effectively.

Certifications (Preferred): Splunk Core Certified User or Administrator certification will be an added advantage.

Soft Skills: Strong communication, eagerness to learn, adaptability, and collaboration in cross-functional environments.

Work Authorization: Must be legally eligible to work in India and willing to operate from the Hyderabad location.
Expected Salary:
The expected salary range for a Junior Observability Engineer at Eli Lilly in Hyderabad is approximately ₹6 LPA to ₹10 LPA, depending on experience, skills, and certifications. Compensation may vary based on individual performance, technical expertise, and organizational pay scales.
