Job Description

At Mastercard, we are redefining the future of digital commerce through innovation, technology, and collaboration. As a Test Automation Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and quality of Mastercard’s Priceless Platform—one of the company’s fastest-growing and most innovative ecosystems. This role combines technical depth with managerial responsibility, driving automation and site reliability engineering (SRE) excellence across high-impact projects serving global banking partners.

As part of a world-class engineering team, you’ll lead a group of skilled QA engineers to develop and integrate automated testing frameworks into CI/CD pipelines. You will design strategies that enhance functional, mobile, and performance testing while strengthening the platform’s resilience through chaos engineering and observability practices. Your leadership will directly contribute to Mastercard’s goal of building a robust, secure, and scalable digital payments infrastructure that supports millions of users worldwide.

This position offers the opportunity to work within a cloud-native environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams in both India and the United States. As a technical leader, you’ll help shape a culture of quality, automation, and operational excellence. Mastercard’s engineering teams value creativity, discipline, and a growth mindset—qualities essential for delivering innovation at scale. If you are passionate about leading by example and developing next-generation automation frameworks, this is your chance to make a global impact.

  • Design, implement, and optimize end-to-end test automation strategies across functional, mobile, and performance testing domains.

  • Develop scalable automation frameworks that seamlessly integrate into continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

  • Collaborate closely with platform engineers and SRE teams to ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance under heavy workloads.

  • Conduct technical design and code reviews focused on enhancing security, reliability, and testability of mission-critical systems.

  • Drive initiatives in chaos engineering, observability, and progressive rollouts to strengthen platform stability.

  • Create and manage test environments, data configurations, and infrastructure resources to enable comprehensive validation.

  • Develop and maintain detailed playbooks for incident response, disaster recovery, and post-release reviews.

  • Continuously explore new automation tools and methodologies to improve testing efficiency and system reliability.

  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide production support and resolve critical issues promptly.

  • Experience: Minimum of 9 years in software engineering, with strong exposure to test automation, distributed application testing, and mobile automation.

  • Technical Proficiency: Deep hands-on expertise in AWS and cloud-based infrastructures, including provisioning and managing compute, storage, and networking resources.

  • Automation Skills: Strong knowledge of automation frameworks, scripting, and CI/CD integrations that enable continuous testing at scale.

  • Performance Testing: Proven ability to design and execute load, stress, and scalability testing using industry-standard tools.

  • Programming & Scripting: Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Python, or JavaScript) and familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools.

  • Leadership & Communication: Excellent leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional communication skills to drive technical alignment and collaboration.

  • Process Excellence: Strong understanding of DevOps, blue/green deployments, feature flagging, and release management practices.
