Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute detailed automation test cases for software testing and quality assurance across web and API layers.

• Analyze user stories, system requirements, and data models to design effective test scenarios that ensure complete coverage.

• Collaborate with developers, test engineers, and data management teams to support in-sprint and regression testing activities.

• Build and maintain automated regression test suites, identifying and mitigating potential defects early in the cycle.

• Leverage automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, TestNG, or JUnit for efficient and reusable test script creation.

• Conduct database testing using SQL queries to validate data accuracy and integrity across integrated systems.

• Work closely with the TDM (Test Data Management) team to generate and manage realistic test data for automation needs.

• Generate comprehensive test reports and dashboards to communicate testing outcomes and insights to stakeholders.

• Ensure smooth collaboration within Agile/Scrum teams, participating in sprints, retrospectives, and backlog grooming sessions.

• Continuously explore new automation tools and techniques to improve efficiency, scalability, and test reliability.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• 5–8 years of experience in software testing with a strong focus on automation testing for web and API-based applications.

• Proven hands-on experience using Selenium, Appium, REST Assured, and Postman for automation and validation.

• Working knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript for developing test frameworks.

• Familiarity with TestNG, JUnit, or similar frameworks to design and execute modular automated test scripts.

• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web application architectures, enabling effective UI-level testing.

• Proficiency in SQL and database testing, including validation of backend processes and stored data.

• Good understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and the software development lifecycle.

• Ability to manage and maintain test data sets effectively to ensure realistic, consistent testing outcomes.

• Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities for identifying root causes of issues.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related disciplines from an accredited institution.

Expected Salary:

The expected salary for a Senior Consultant – Automation Tester at Deloitte in India typically ranges between ₹16 LPA and ₹27 LPA, depending on experience, location, and technical expertise.
