Job Description:

GlobalLogic, a leader in digital engineering and part of the Hitachi Group, is seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer specializing in Appium-based mobile testing for Android and iOS applications. This role is a critical part of the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiative, where the focus is on creating scalable, reliable automation frameworks to ensure quality across a wide range of devices. As a Mobile QA Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining end-to-end automation frameworks that integrate seamlessly across hardware, mobile applications, and backend APIs. Your efforts will directly impact the delivery of stable, secure, and high-performance mobile applications. This role involves ensuring device compatibility, building custom automation solutions, and supporting continuous integration pipelines — enabling faster and higher-quality releases for GlobalLogic’s innovative projects.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end development and execution of mobile automation test cases using Appium and other relevant tools.

• Design and implement custom automation frameworks tailored for complex system interactions, including hardware integration, backend APIs, and mobile front-end testing.

• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and stakeholders to define comprehensive test coverage and ensure BYOD readiness.

• Optimize test execution by automating a large set of manual test cases, improving speed and reliability.

• Conduct detailed verification of Android and iOS device compatibility across multiple configurations.

• Integrate automated testing with CI/CD pipelines for faster, continuous validation of builds and releases.

• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior QA engineers within the mobile testing team.

• Contribute to defining the overall testing strategy, ensuring maximum automation coverage and quality benchmarks.

• Maintain and enhance existing codebases, adapting them to meet the evolving needs of the BYOD framework.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, identify, and resolve automation-related issues efficiently.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• 10+ years of professional experience in software testing, with at least 5 years focused on mobile automation for Android/iOS applications.

• Strong hands-on experience in Appium, Selenium, or other mobile testing frameworks, with proven ability to design scalable automation solutions.

• Deep understanding of API testing, device compatibility, and end-to-end automation architecture.

• Solid programming knowledge in Java, Python, or JavaScript, especially for building custom automation frameworks.

• Expertise in handling hardware integration via APIs, backend testing, and managing complex system workflows.

• Experience working in BYOD or MDM (Mobile Device Management) environments is highly desirable.

• Strong familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) for automated build and test pipelines.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail and debugging skills.

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively in distributed, agile teams with a focus on delivering high-quality releases.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Expected Salary:

The typical salary range for a Senior Mobile QA Automation Engineer at GlobalLogic in India is between ₹18 LPA and ₹28 LPA, depending on experience, expertise, and project scope. Highly experienced professionals with strong Appium and CI/CD skills may command compensation toward the upper end of this range.
