EY – QA Automation Engineer (Karate Mandatory)

Job Description:
EY is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented QA Automation Engineer with hands-on expertise in the Karate framework to join its technology team in Pune. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, developing, and executing automated test strategies that ensure software reliability, scalability, and high performance. The position demands a solid understanding of automation tools, testing methodologies, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain EY’s world-class quality standards.

As a QA Automation Engineer at EY, you will work alongside developers, analysts, and solution architects to build robust automation test suites and identify gaps in functionality early in the development cycle. You’ll be responsible for developing reusable scripts using Karate and Selenium, performing functional and regression testing, and contributing to overall process improvements. Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts primarily using the Karate framework and Selenium.

• Collaborate with development and business teams to understand application requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

• Execute regression, integration, functional, and performance testing across multiple environments.

• Conduct manual testing when required to complement automation efforts and validate complex use cases.

• Identify, log, and track software defects, ensuring clear communication with developers for timely resolution.

• Analyze test results, identify root causes, and deliver actionable insights to enhance product quality.

• Contribute to continuous improvement by refining automation frameworks and testing methodologies.

• Stay current with QA automation trends, emerging tools, and best practices in the industry.

• Ensure adherence to Agile/Scrum principles during the software development lifecycle.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving overall test code quality and maintainability.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.

• 3–8 years of experience in QA automation and manual testing, preferably within enterprise or client-facing projects.

• Proven expertise with Karate framework and proficiency in Java programming.

• Strong hands-on experience using Selenium WebDriver for web application testing.

• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira or TestRail.

• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaboration in iterative development environments.

• Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps for automated pipeline integration.

• Knowledge of performance testing tools and techniques is a plus.

• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a proactive mindset to drive quality improvements.

Based on current market data, professionals in this role typically earn between ₹8 LPA to ₹18 LPA in Pune, depending on skillset, experience, and technical proficiency.
