Dell Technologies is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automation Engineer to join its Software Engineering team within the Client Solutions Group. This is a senior-level technical position where you will lead the architecture, design, and development of sophisticated automation and CI/CD strategies for BIOS and firmware validation on Dell’s client products. Your work will ensure the highest level of product quality, scalability, and reliability across Dell’s global portfolio.

This role demands deep technical expertise in C, Python, BIOS, and embedded firmware systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design automation frameworks that streamline validation, testing, and deployment, enabling faster time-to-market for Dell’s client solutions. Your contribution will help ensure seamless hardware-software integration, improve product stability, and deliver a best-in-class end-user experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of automation frameworks for BIOS and embedded firmware validation.

• Define and implement scalable and portable CI/CD strategies for pre-boot BIOS and firmware components across Dell client solutions.

• Develop robust, reusable, and maintainable test automation scripts and tools using C and Python to validate complex system features.

• Act as a hands-on technical leader and mentor, guiding team members through design reviews, debugging, and development processes.

• Collaborate with firmware engineers, QA teams, and product architects to ensure test coverage, feature readiness, and timely delivery.

• Conduct root cause analysis of defects, propose solutions, and drive corrective actions across development and testing teams.

• Continuously enhance automation efficiency, maintainability, and scalability through innovation and adoption of industry best practices.

• Participate in agile ceremonies, contributing to feature discussions, sprint planning, and release readiness assessments.

• Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to ensure Dell’s automation strategy remains cutting-edge.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Experience: 12–18 years of hands-on experience in BIOS/firmware automation, validation, and CI/CD strategy implementation.

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

• Technical Skills: Expertise in C and Python programming with the ability to design, debug, and guide others in writing scalable, reusable code.

• BIOS & Firmware Knowledge: Strong understanding of PC ecosystem architecture, BIOS development cycles, and embedded firmware features for client products.

• Automation & CI/CD: Proven experience in developing automation frameworks and CI/CD solutions for pre-boot BIOS and embedded controller firmware.

• Debugging Skills: Proficiency with software/hardware debugging tools and techniques to identify and resolve complex issues.

• Leadership Abilities: Experience mentoring engineers, leading technical reviews, and influencing architectural decisions.

• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.

• Desirable Skills: Ability to quickly learn new tools, programming languages, and operating systems as per project needs.
