Job Description

Ionos Networks is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join its Bengaluru team. This is a senior-level role where you will be responsible for driving end-to-end QA strategy, streamlining the development-to-QA and QA-to-production pipeline, and collaborating closely with engineering teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, secure, and reliable networking solutions.

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will be involved early in the development lifecycle, contributing during architecture and design discussions to ensure testability and scalability of solutions. You will lead automation efforts, define test frameworks, and work on complex systems involving networking, cloud technologies, and security components. This role is ideal for someone with a deep technical background in networking protocols, cloud-native infrastructure, and QA automation who thrives in solving challenging problems in high-performance environments.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Define, plan, and execute QA strategy for complex networking and cloud-based solutions.

• Collaborate with developers during architecture and design phases to ensure quality is built into every stage of development.

• Streamline and optimize Dev-to-QA and QA-to-Production pipelines for faster, more reliable releases.

• Lead automation efforts using Python or similar languages to maximize test coverage and reduce manual effort.

• Perform comprehensive functional, integration, and performance testing for L4-L7 networking solutions.

• Test and validate network protocols including IP, TCP, and UDP in Linux host environments.

• Collaborate with operations and product teams to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve performance bottlenecks.

• Conduct security testing including penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and validation of encryption standards like TLS, PKI, and SSL.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior QA engineers to raise the overall technical bar for the QA team.

• Prepare detailed documentation, test reports, and quality metrics to communicate results to stakeholders.

Requirements & Eligibility

• 8+ years of proven experience in Quality Assurance with strong focus on automation and networking solutions.

• Hands-on experience with Python or similar programming languages for writing test automation scripts.

• Deep understanding of networking concepts including IP, TCP, UDP, and L4-L7 technologies.

• Experience working with firewalls, load balancers, proxies, NAT, VPN technologies, and WAN solutions.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS EC2, Google Cloud (GCE), and Kubernetes (GKE).

• Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker or Rkt and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.

• Experience with performance debugging in GoLang, Java, or similar environments.

• Working knowledge of databases and streaming systems such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Kafka, and Zookeeper.

• Strong understanding of security testing methodologies including penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Expected Salary

For a Senior QA Engineer with 8+ years of experience in Bengaluru, the expected salary range is typically between ₹18 LPA and ₹28 LPA, depending on technical expertise, cloud and networking experience, and proficiency in automation. Candidates with hands-on exposure to security testing and large-scale cloud deployments may command compensation on the higher end of the range.
