Job Description

American Express is looking for a talented Business Analyst in Data Analytics to join its Gurugram team. This role provides an exciting opportunity to influence product and partner strategy using advanced analytics and data-driven insights. As a Business Analyst, you will analyze customer behavior, competitive trends, and partnership performance to help strengthen relationships, optimize benefits, and guide strategic decision-making. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Lending leadership, and Business Development, to communicate insights and inform strategic initiatives. You will also establish robust MIS systems, track partner performance, and curate opportunities in line with loyalty and benefit strategies. Your work will support negotiations with new and existing partners, enabling Amex to drive greater product and partner value while enhancing overall business performance.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Build an opportunity landscape to support negotiations for new benefit partnerships.

• Provide partner analytics to optimize value proposition and strengthen relationships with existing partners.

• Use advanced analytics to study customer behavior, competitive landscape, and emerging trends to drive actionable insights.

• Develop and maintain MIS dashboards to track benefit performance from both Amex and partner perspectives.

• Proactively identify emerging merchants and industries to curate business development pipelines aligned with strategy.

• Communicate analytics-based insights effectively to Product Management, Lending leadership, and cross-functional teams.

• Support product and partner strategy by applying data-driven recommendations and business intelligence.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate complex data into understandable insights for decision-making.

• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all analytical outputs and reports.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, Computer Science, or related quantitative fields.

• Hands-on expertise in statistical analysis and data manipulation tools such as SAS, SQL, and Big Data analytics techniques.

• Strong programming and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data into actionable business insights.

• Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, data mining, and research methodologies is highly desirable.

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to present complex findings clearly.

• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

• Strong problem-solving skills and innovative approach to analyzing business challenges.

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data integrity across all reporting and analysis.

Expected Salary

For a Business Analyst – Data Analytics at American Express in Gurugram, the expected salary typically ranges between ₹8.0 LPA and ₹14.0 LPA, depending on experience, technical skills, and project exposure.
