Citi: Senior Automation Test Analyst – Assistant Vice President

Job Description:
Citi is seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Test Analyst – AVP to join its dynamic quality assurance team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain robust automated test frameworks to ensure the quality and reliability of complex enterprise applications. You will work closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts to translate requirements into scalable automated testing solutions that support Citi’s mission to deliver secure and efficient financial services worldwide.

This is a strategic position with a balance of technical hands-on contributions and cross-functional collaboration. You will have the autonomy to enhance Citi’s automation capabilities, streamline test execution within CI/CD pipelines, and ensure faster and more reliable delivery of software releases. The role offers the opportunity to work on challenging enterprise-grade systems in a highly regulated financial environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java, Python, and Selenium WebDriver to cover functional and regression testing.

• Execute automated test suites, analyze failures, and generate comprehensive test reports to share with stakeholders.

• Collaborate with development teams to identify defects, perform root cause analysis, and verify fixes through re-testing.

• Participate in manual and exploratory testing where needed to identify gaps and create automation opportunities.

• Enhance existing automation frameworks, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and alignment with best practices.

• Integrate automation suites with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps for continuous testing.

• Conduct API testing using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or frameworks such as Rest-Assured.

• Maintain test documentation in JIRA and Confluence, including test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices.

• Provide accurate work estimates, track QA metrics, and deliver progress reports to management.

• Mentor junior team members, promote best testing practices, and drive process improvements.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• 8–10+ years of experience in Software QA, with a strong focus on automation testing.

• Expertise in Selenium WebDriver, Java/Python scripting, and automation framework design (keyword-driven, data-driven, or BDD).

• Proficiency in SQL for data validation and test data setup.

• Experience with RESTful API testing using Postman, SoapUI, or Rest-Assured.

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests.

• Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and QA best practices.

• Proficient in using Git or similar version control systems.

• Experience with test management tools like JIRA and Zephyr for planning and reporting.

• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• Prior experience in banking or financial services domain is highly desirable.

• Exposure to UFT, performance testing, or other commercial automation tools is a plus.

Expected Salary:
A Senior Automation Test Analyst – AVP at Citi in Pune can expect a salary in the range of ₹20 LPA – ₹32 LPA, depending on experience, skill set, and expertise in automation frameworks and CI/CD tools.
