Job Description:
As a Python Automation Engineer (Cloud) at SAP, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated testing strategies for SAP HANA Cloud and SAP IQ database products. Your role will involve working across global deployments to ensure software quality, performance, and scalability. You will build advanced automated test frameworks, work on performance and stability testing, and troubleshoot complex issues that impact large-scale database systems. This is a hands-on role that allows you to directly contribute to SAP’s mission of delivering secure, reliable, and efficient cloud solutions for enterprises worldwide.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Perform end-to-end quality lifecycle activities including requirement analysis, test planning, automation strategy, and execution.

• Design, develop, and maintain advanced automated test frameworks to ensure repeatable, scalable, and efficient testing.

• Conduct functional, regression, and performance testing on SAP HANA Cloud and SAP IQ database products.

• Analyze failures, debug complex issues, and work with development teams to resolve defects efficiently.

• Collaborate with product teams across geographies to ensure test coverage aligns with delivery and release milestones.

• Reproduce customer-reported issues, identify root causes, and provide detailed reports to stakeholders.

• Optimize test automation pipelines and contribute to improving CI/CD processes for faster delivery.

• Monitor and analyze database performance and stability under different workloads and environments.

• Document test plans, create detailed reports, and share insights with the engineering and product management teams.

• Actively contribute to process improvements and drive adoption of best practices in quality assurance.

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field with 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance and automation.

• Strong knowledge of QA principles, methodologies, and best practices in cloud-based product testing.

• Hands-on experience in Python and shell scripting for building automation scripts and frameworks.

• Proficiency in SQL and experience with DBMS systems, including administration and troubleshooting.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Gerrit.

• Knowledge of bug tracking and version control systems, with experience in Jira or similar tools.

• Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and ability to debug complex software issues.

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with global teams and document technical processes.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively in Agile development environments.
