Job Description

EPAM Systems is looking for a JavaScript Automation Test Engineer to join its growing team in Pune. This role is focused on building and executing scalable UI and API automation frameworks that ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software solutions for global clients. As part of a highly collaborative engineering team, you will work with cutting-edge technologies, write robust test automation scripts in JavaScript and TypeScript, and drive improvements in software testing processes.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and QA leads to design and execute automation strategies across multiple applications and projects. Roles & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Gather and analyze system requirements, ensuring complete understanding of business needs.

• Develop test plans: Create detailed test strategies, scenarios, and test cases to cover UI and API functionality.

• Build automation scripts: Design and implement automated test suites using JavaScript and TypeScript for UI and API testing.

• Use modern frameworks: Work with Cypress, Puppeteer, WebdriverIO, Mocha, Chai, and Jest to validate application functionality.

• Execute and maintain tests: Run automation scripts regularly, debug failures, and keep frameworks updated with application changes.

• Defect management: Log, track, and retest defects, ensuring issues are resolved before production release.

• Promote quality standards: Contribute to best practices, code reviews, and process improvements in the QA team.

• Stay updated: Explore new testing tools, automation techniques, and emerging trends to keep EPAM’s QA capabilities industry-leading.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Experience: 3–5 years in automation testing, with at least 1.5–2 years of hands-on JavaScript automation experience.

• Technical skills: Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript for writing automation scripts.

• Framework expertise: Hands-on experience with Cypress, Puppeteer, Protractor, Mocha, Chai, Jest, and WebdriverIO.

• API testing knowledge: Ability to design and execute automated API tests, validate responses, and create reusable test data.

• Automation strategy: Strong understanding of test automation principles, frameworks, and best practices.

• Collaboration skills: Ability to work with developers and product owners to clarify requirements and suggest test improvements.

• Communication: B2+ level English proficiency for effective global collaboration.

• Soft skills: Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions.

Expected Salary
