Job Description:
Citi, a global leader in banking and financial services, is seeking a skilled Data and Information Management Officer to join its Chennai team. In this role, you will work closely with the Control Testing Automation Team to streamline, automate, and enhance control testing processes. By leveraging data-driven capabilities, you will help identify gaps in controls and provide actionable evidence to business, risk, and audit teams. This position plays a vital role in mitigating risks related to regulatory compliance, AML/KYC, sanctions, fraud, sales practices, and reputational threats, contributing directly to Citiβs mission of delivering secure and efficient banking services globally.
As a Data and Information Management Officer, you will analyze complex datasets, identify patterns, and perform both quantitative and qualitative assessments to support risk mitigation. The role requires hands-on experience with tools like SAS, SQL, shell scripting, and schedulers like Autosys or LSF. You will also leverage Excel, PowerPoint, and VBA to create reports, dashboards, and visualizations that communicate insights effectively to stakeholders. This position offers exposure to automation practices in data management, control testing, and financial compliance, providing a strong foundation for growth in banking operations and analytics.
Beyond technical execution, the role emphasizes collaboration and domain expertise. You will work with cross-functional teams including Business, Internal Audit, Internal Citi Risk, and Technology to implement best practices, ensure data integrity, and drive process improvements. Roles & Responsibilities:

Automate and streamline control testing processes using data-driven approaches to strengthen risk prevention.

Analyze and transform complex datasets to identify patterns, anomalies, and gaps in controls.

Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations using SAS, SQL, Shell scripts, Excel, PowerPoint, and VBA.

Collaborate with Business, Internal Audit, Risk, and Technology teams to provide evidence for risk mitigation.

Monitor and manage scheduling of automation tasks using tools such as Autosys and LSF.

Support domain-specific risk areas including regulatory compliance, AML/KYC, sanctions, fraud, and reputational risks.

Assist in designing and implementing best practices for data management, control testing, and workflow processes.

Engage resources across teams to achieve objectives and ensure timely delivery of testing outputs.

Maintain strong documentation of processes, test results, and data analysis for audit and compliance purposes.

Continuously enhance technical and domain knowledge to improve efficiency and effectiveness of control testing.
Requirements & Eligibility:

Bachelorβs degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, or related fields.

3β4 years of relevant experience in data management, control testing, or financial analytics.

Hands-on experience with SAS, SQL, Shell scripting, and schedulers such as Autosys or LSF.

Strong proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and VBA for data analysis and reporting.

Analytical mindset with experience performing quantitative and qualitative assessments on complex datasets.

Knowledge of banking products including Wealth, Cards, Deposits, Loans, and Insurance.

Understanding of finance regulations and audit processes is a plus.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills to work effectively in globally distributed teams.
