Job Description:
Capgemini, a global leader in technology and business transformation, is seeking a talented Playwright Automation Tester to join its QA team in Pune. In this role, you will design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Microsoft Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript) to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of web applications. By creating robust and scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, and end-to-end testing, you will directly contribute to delivering high-quality software products. Your work will enhance test efficiency, accelerate release cycles, and support Capgemini’s mission of helping clients unlock the value of technology while fostering sustainable and inclusive solutions.

This role involves close collaboration with developers, product managers, and QA engineers to define test strategies, identify test scenarios, and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps. You will perform functional, regression, smoke, and cross-browser testing while analyzing results to provide detailed feedback to stakeholders. Continuous improvement of test coverage, reliability, and execution speed is expected to ensure that Capgemini’s applications meet rigorous quality standards across platforms.

Beyond automation execution, the Playwright Automation Tester will maintain comprehensive test documentation, contribute to QA best practices, and mentor peers in automation techniques. Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies, REST API testing using Postman or REST Assured, and version control tools like Git will allow you to actively participate in a collaborative, fast-paced development environment. Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript) for web applications.

  2. Create reusable test frameworks for UI, API, and end-to-end automation to enhance test efficiency and scalability.

  3. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.

  4. Execute functional, regression, smoke, and cross-browser testing to validate software quality across platforms.

  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define effective test strategies.

  6. Identify, document, and track defects using JIRA or Azure DevOps and participate in defect triage.

  7. Analyze test results and provide detailed reports and actionable insights to stakeholders.

  8. Continuously improve test coverage, reliability, and execution speed through optimization of test scripts.

  9. Maintain test documentation, promote QA best practices, and contribute to process improvements.

  10. Support knowledge sharing and mentoring of peers in automation techniques and best practices.

Requirements & Eligibility:

  1. 2+ years of experience in test automation using Playwright or similar frameworks such as Selenium or Cypress.

  2. Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript for writing automation scripts.

  3. Hands-on experience with REST API testing and tools like Postman or REST Assured.

  4. Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

  5. Strong understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, DOM, and browser behavior.

  6. Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting test failures.

  7. Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

  8. Ability to design reusable test frameworks, optimize automated test scripts, and improve test coverage.

  9. Passion for continuous learning, professional growth, and implementing best QA practices.

  10. Exposure to global projects and diverse work environments is a plus.
