Larsen & Toubro (L&T), a leading global technology, engineering, construction, and manufacturing company, is seeking a Software Engineer for its D&DC Land Systems division. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates to begin their careers in embedded systems and defense technology. As a Software Engineer, you will be involved in the development of software solutions for land-based defense systems, contributing to mission-critical applications.

In this role, you will work with a team of engineers to design, develop, and maintain software for embedded systems. You will be responsible for writing efficient code in C/C++, working with real-time operating systems like VxWorks and Linux, and ensuring the reliability and performance of the software. Roles & Responsibilities

1. Software Development: Write efficient and maintainable code in C/C++ for embedded systems.

2. System Programming: Work with real-time operating systems like VxWorks and Linux to develop system-level software.

3. Multi-threading & Multi-processing: Implement multi-threaded and multi-process applications to meet system requirements.

4. Inter-process Communication: Utilize inter-process communication mechanisms to enable effective data exchange between processes.

5. Diagnostic Tools: Design and implement diagnostic tools to aid in the development and debugging of software systems.

6. Issue Resolution: Analyze and resolve issues arising from customer deployments, ensuring system stability and performance.

7. Protocol Implementation: Implement and manage communication protocols such as Ethernet, CAN, and 1553 for system interoperability.

8. Network Configuration: Configure and manage network settings, including IP protocols and VLANs, to ensure seamless communication.

9. System Integration: Contribute to the integration of software components into the overall system architecture.

10. Performance Optimization: Optimize software performance to meet the stringent requirements of defense applications.

11. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of software designs, implementations, and test procedures.

12. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.

Requirements & Eligibility

1. Educational Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, or related disciplines.

2. Technical Skills:

   • Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages.

   • Familiarity with real-time operating systems such as VxWorks and Linux.

   • Understanding of multi-threading and multi-processing concepts.

   • Experience with inter-process communication mechanisms.

3. Networking Knowledge:

   • Understanding of communication protocols like Ethernet, CAN, and 1553.

   • Knowledge of IP protocols, VLANs, and network configuration.

4. Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

5. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

6. Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

7. Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.

8. Experience: 0–1 year of relevant experience in software development or embedded systems.
