Roles & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to understand analytical needs and translate them into meaningful data solutions.

• Design, build, and maintain advanced data models and visualizations that support multiple products and business domains across Meta.

• Define and uphold Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for datasets, ensuring consistent quality and availability of mission-critical data.

• Develop scalable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines that integrate data from structured and unstructured sources.

• Improve existing logging systems and frameworks to enhance data accuracy, tracking, and monitoring.

• Own, optimize, and maintain production data processes, ensuring they run efficiently and meet stakeholder requirements.

• Apply advanced algorithmic concepts to optimize performance of complex queries, pipelines, and dashboards.

• Drive innovation by recommending data architecture improvements, automation opportunities, and best practices.

• Actively partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for data-driven product improvements and business impact.

• Share knowledge and mentor team members, helping build Meta’s data literacy culture and technical excellence.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in a data-focused role such as Data Engineer, Data Scientist, or Data Analyst.

• Strong command of SQL, ETL frameworks, and data modeling techniques, with proven ability to handle large-scale data environments.

• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, C++, C#, or Scala, with demonstrated problem-solving skills.

• Proven ability to design scalable data solutions that meet business and product requirements.

• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to approach data problems from multiple perspectives.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical insights to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and compelling way.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities with attention to detail.

• Preferred: Master’s or PhD in a STEM field, with advanced research or engineering experience.

Expected Salary

At Meta, compensation varies by skills, location, and experience. For Data Engineers in the United States, the expected annual salary range is typically $120,000 to $165,000, with potential for higher packages in senior roles. In India, the average range is ₹25,00,000 to ₹45,00,000 per year.
