Job Description

Capgemini is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Automation Testing Engineer with strong expertise in Selenium WebDriver and API testing. As part of the Quality Engineering & Testing team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust automation frameworks to validate both front-end and back-end components of enterprise applications.

This role involves close collaboration with developers, QA analysts, and product managers to ensure the highest standards of software quality. You will drive automation best practices, integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines, and provide comprehensive testing coverage across UI, API, and functional layers. Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation test scripts using Selenium WebDriver with Java or Python.

• Design and execute API automation tests for REST and SOAP services using tools like REST Assured, Postman, or SoapUI.

• Build scalable, reusable automation frameworks for UI and API testing.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

• Perform functional, regression, cross-browser, and smoke testing across platforms.

• Analyze test results, identify defects, and document findings with clear reproducible steps.

• Collaborate with developers and QA teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

• Manage test data, monitor test environments, and support setup for testing activities.

• Continuously improve automation strategies and adopt emerging test tools.

• Contribute to knowledge sharing and mentor junior testers where required.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver using Java or Python.

• Proven expertise in API testing tools such as REST Assured, Postman, or SoapUI.

• Experience with TestNG, JUnit, or PyTest frameworks.

• Solid understanding of JSON, XML, HTTP methods, and status codes.

• Proficiency in XPath, CSS selectors, and dynamic element handling.

• Experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub, Bitbucket).

• Knowledge of CI/CD integration tools: Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.

• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
