Barclays – QA Automation

Barclays is seeking a QA Automation professional to design, develop, and implement robust test automation frameworks across complex business areas, ensuring high-quality software delivery and integration with CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute automation frameworks using Selenium, Cypress, TestNG, Rest Assured.

• Write and maintain BDD-style test cases using Cucumber.

• Implement testing workflows in TestNG and Selenium with Core Java.

• Perform API testing and integration testing with Postman or Rest Assured.

• Conduct database validation and automate result comparisons.

• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins Freestyle or Pipeline jobs).

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure full test coverage and alignment with business objectives.

• Stay updated with industry technology trends and contribute to the technology community.

• Adhere to secure coding practices and implement effective unit testing.

Required Skills & Expertise

• Strong experience in Java programming for automation testing.

• Hands-on expertise with Selenium, Cypress, TestNG, Rest Assured.

• Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber).

• Familiarity with build tools like Maven or Gradle.

• Experience with API testing, database testing, and CI/CD integration.

• Knowledge of testing event-driven systems (Kafka/message brokers) is a plus.

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of testing lifecycle.

Role Purpose

• Deliver high-quality software solutions using industry-standard tools and frameworks.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.

• Lead or contribute to process improvement and technical guidance within the QA team.

• Ensure risk management, control adherence, and maintain high testing standards.
