SEMTECH: Software Intern, 2026 Batch

Semtech’s 12-month Internship Program (July 2025 to June 2026) in Pune is designed for final-year engineering students seeking hands-on industry experience. As a Software Developer Intern, you will collaborate with seasoned engineers on live projects across Embedded Systems, Firmware Development, UI Engineering, Device Drivers, IoT Management Platforms, and Application Software. You’ll write efficient, reliable code in C, C++, and Python, apply operating-system concepts and data structures to build scalable solutions, and contribute to the design and development of IoT device-management platforms. If you have a strong interest in systems programming and OS internals, this role will help you bridge academic knowledge with real-world applications.

🧩 Key Responsibilities
Software Development & Maintenance
• Develop and maintain software across embedded systems, firmware, UI components, and device drivers.
• Contribute to the design, implementation, and testing of IoT device-management platforms and application software.
• Write efficient, reliable code in C, C++, and Python, adhering to industry best practices and version-control processes.

System-Level Design & Problem-Solving
• Work closely with senior engineers on system-level architecture, debugging, and optimization.
• Apply operating-system concepts (processes, threads, memory management, synchronization) and data structures/algorithms to real-world problems.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and integration, ensuring high code quality and reliability.

Collaboration & Learning
• Engage in Agile-style planning sessions and daily standups with cross-functional teams (hardware, firmware, software, QA).
• Document design decisions, test cases, and development workflows for knowledge sharing.
• Seek feedback and mentorship from senior engineers to continuously improve technical skills and coding practices.

🎓 Qualifications & Skills
Minimum Qualifications
• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (final-year student for July 2025 intake).
• Strong interest in systems programming and operating-system internals (processes, threads, memory).
• Solid grasp of one or more programming languages: C, C++, or Python.
• Good analytical skills and logical thinking, with the ability to translate academic concepts into practical solutions.

Desired Skills
• Experience or coursework in embedded systems, firmware development, or device driver programming.
• Familiarity with UI development (React, Angular, or similar) and networking fundamentals.
• Eagerness to explore low-level programming, IoT architectures, and cloud-based platforms.
• Growth mindset: openness to learning, receiving feedback, and working both independently and in a team environment.

💰 Stipend & Compensation
• Estimated Monthly Stipend: ₹15,000 – ₹25,000

Final stipend figures will be communicated upon selection and are subject to company norms.
